JFS student Kelly Jane Robertson has become what is believed to be the youngest writer to have her work published in weekly business magazine Investors Chronicle.
Kelly Jane, 16, was doing work experience at the publication when she was asked to explore the habits of clothes shoppers across the UK. Her findings, deduced from interviews with around 100 consumers in London, were published in the magazine.
She tells People: "I had to find out what the next big thing in fashion was and what Investors Chronicle readers should buy shares in." What did she conclude? "Around Covent Garden the shops need to be quirky in order to keep up with the trends. Colours need to be bigger and more exaggerated."
Among the most popular shops were Topshop, New Look and Primark, and online retailer Asos.com. However, "some people said they didn't like Primark because they found the layout a bit like a jumble sale." Kelly Jane, who lives in north London, says the experience confirmed her ambitions of wanting to become a journalist, maybe in the health care sector. "It was amazing to see my work published."
