Representatives of the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council met today to pursue talks about possible unification.

Discussions were briefly suspended in autumn following JLC complaints that it had not been consulted by the Board over the formation of a new parliamentary group on British Jews.

A spokesman for the liaison group between the Board and the JLC described the meeting as “enjoyable and productive. Those present will no doubt be reporting to their executive committees in due course."
