Lucy Frazer has become the only Jewish woman in the government after being appointed to a position at the Ministry of Justice.

The 45-year-old lawyer becomes Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State at the department following Theresa May’s reshuffle.

Ms Frazer was first elected to Parliament in 2015 and is the MP for South East Cambridgeshire. She increased her vote share in the 2017 election but saw her majority cut by around 700 votes to a still-healthy 16,158.

A QC, she grew up in Leeds where she was a member of BBYO in her youth.
