Food writer and film director Michael Winner has been buried at a Jewish cemetery.
The 77-year-old, who died on Monday after being diagnosed with liver disease last summer, was buried at Willesden Jewish Cemetery.
His spokesman said that the ceremony, which was attended by prominent figures including Sir Michael Parkinson and Sir David Frost, would have been described by Mr Winner as "perfect, darling, perfect.
"A cold wind whipped a flurry of snowflakes across the cemetery - a film director's dream."
His former personal assistant revealed that there would be a memorial service in due course, but said that her old boss "would have loved the send-off".
The service was conducted by Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler of the New West End S ynagogue. Rabbi Shisler is chaplain to the Jewish Police Association. Mr Winner had a longstanding association with the police, setting up the Police Memorial Trust after Yvonne Fletcher was murdered outside the Libyan embassy in 1984.
In being buried at Willesden, Mr Winner joins other noted Jewish figures, including two chief rabbis, several members of the Rothschild dynasty, DNA pioneer Rosalind Franklin and Shell founder Marcus Samuel.
