Impressionist Jess Robinson will hope to join Jewish illusionist duo DNA in the Britain’s Got Talent live final as she prepares to perform in tonight’s semi-final.
If Ms Robinson, from north London, finishes in the top two in the public vote tonight, she will follow in the footsteps of another Jewish impressionist, Francine Lewis, who reached the final in 2013.
In her audition in April, the 33-year-old channelled Katherine Jenkins, Shirley Bassey and Liza Minnelli.
Tonight she will be up against seven other acts, including early favourites, the Missing People Choir, comedian Daliso Chaponda and singer Jamie Lee Harrison. The prize for winning the competition outright is £250,000 and a spot to perform for the Queen at the Royal Variety Performance.
This year’s Britain’s Got Talent final has been moved to Saturday night to avoid a clash with the Ariana Grande benefit concert in Manchester, which is being broadcast live by the BBC on Sunday evening.
Tonight’s semi-final will begin at 7.30pm, and will be available on catch-up on the ITV Hub.
