Lord Janner is to challenge a magistrate's ruling that he should appear in court in person to face historic child sex abuse charges.
A High Court judge was due to consider whether it was unlawful to order him to come to Westminster Magistrates Court despite suffering from severe dementia.
The 87-year-old peer, a former president of the Board of Deputies, is likely to be charged with more than 20 counts relating to allegations of historic child sex abuse dating back to the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s.
His family has said he is "entirely innocent", and he denies any wrongdoing.
