Lord Janner has arrived at court ahead of his appearance to be charged with historical child sex abuse.

The peer arrived at Westminster Magistrates Court in central around 25 minutes before his scheduled appearance.

The 87-year-old, who suffers from severe dementia, was driven past waiting photographers and entered the building via an underground car park in a silver Toyota Avensis.

He is due to appear in court one at around 2pm.
