Jamie Oliver helped to cook up a six-figure sum for co-existence projects in Israel when he took part in the One to One Children’s Fund poker tournament in the West End on Sunday.
The TV chef urged guests to “dig deep in your pockets” as he auctioned a special dinner at his Fifteen restaurant, raising over £10,000 towards the event’s £200,000-plus proceeds. He was less successful at the poker table as the tournament, also featuring actor Dexter Fletcher and footballer Teddy Sheringham, was won by Leticia White, daughter of restaurateur Marco Pierre White.
Money raised will be split between the charity’s work for children with HIV/Aids and its after-school clubs in Israel, open to children from all communities.
