Jackie Walker, the former Momentum vice-chair who was removed from the position following contentious comments about Holocaust Memorial Day, published, and then swiftly withdrew, a Facebook post reacting to yesterday’s Sunday Times piece by Kevin Myers.
The ambiguous post consisted merely of a link to a news story about the controversy and the single word ‘Really?’
In an interview with the Jewish News, the activist said that she had deleted the post because she was concerned that the comment might be misinterpreted.
“I was in a state of total disbelief. It was unbelievable that such an antisemitic piece of garbage should get through. Then I realised that some people might mistake disbelief for something else, so I took it down and replaced it with something that makes my disgust of this quite clear”
Ms Walker will shortly be appearing in a one-woman show, The Lynching, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
She sees the show, according to a press release, as “my chance to tell my side of the story” of the Labour antisemitism row.
