An Israeli musical virtuoso has just released his debut solo album – of double bass music.
Adam Ben Ezra, whose music videos have generated over 10 million hits on YouTube, has brought out Pin Drop, a live album released via Ropeadope Records. It features a selection of his own music, played in front of a live audience.
Mr Ben Ezra began playing the violin at the age of five, later expanding his repertoire to include instruments such as the guitar, piano, clarinet and flute. However, the double bass is his main instrument.
Talking about the album’s creation, he described it as “one of the most unique and creative experiences I’ve ever had.
“Recording an album in front of a live audience is a big challenge, it requires a lot of focus and attention since the songs are being played only once, with no option for re-takes.
“I’ve learned so much during this experience. I believe it has sharpened my performance, improved my ability to really understand what it means to be in the moment and for this I am very grateful.”
