A woman stripped naked and walked across the Kotel plaza on Sunday, to the consternation of the site’s guards.
The woman, who, according to Ynet, is mentally ill, was arrested after she made the dash in broad daylight.
Visitors and worshippers were shocked at the sight of a young woman walking around the Western Wall completely naked.
Female volunteers who guard the entrance to the women's section and ensure visitors are dressed appropriately rushed towards the woman and unsuccessfully attempted to cover her.
One of the female volunteers told Ynet: "She came into the women's section dressed and walked out naked. She had a weird look in her eyes. She didn't say anything, just marched in the direction of the men's section. I tried to chase her with something to cover her, but I couldn't catch her."
It became apparent the 23-year-old suffered from a mental illness during her police interview. She was released to travel back to her father without any restrictions.
