Footage of an Israeli wedding being broken up by police, showing tussles and one guest with their face covered in blood, has prompted a government investigation.
A video posted on Twitter shows police dragging guests out of the house in Givat Ze’ev, an Israeli settlement in the West Bank, including one – reportedly the bride’s brother – with his face covered in blood.

According to the Guardian, the police claimed an officer was attacked by the female owner of the house, and other guests began throwing “glass oil bottles” at them.
In the course of the incident, an officer and the suspect slipped on the oil and were injured by the glass, the police said. The man with the bloodied face had been arrested for throwing oil.
The family accused the officers of attacking guests at the Wednesday night celebration, and claimed they had been respecting lockdown regulations which limit gatherings to twenty people.
The incident provoked the anger of interior minister Aryeh Deri, who tweeted that there was “no reason in the world for police to break in with rifles in hand and harm people.”
Public security minister responsible for policing, Amir Ohana, described the images as “difficult and unfortunate”, and promised to personally look into the matter personally.
