Two passenger jets collided on the tarmac at Ben-Gurion Airport as they were preparing for take-off.

People on board reported being jolted by the crash, which occured as a Germania Boeing 737 was being pushed back from the gate at the terminal and collided with El Al's 767 nearby.

The German plane's tail fin was severely damaged and both aircraft were grounded following the incident.

The Israel Airport Authority said passengers disembarked both planes safely and that there had been no injuries.
