Two of three Israelis injured in a terror attack in Jerusalem on Wednesday have died on their wounds.

The stabbing attack, near the Old City’s Jaffa Gate, was carried out by two Palestinians, both of whom were shot by policewomen at the scene.

One of them was killed immediately and the other later succumbed to his wounds, police and paramedics said.

One of the victims who died was accidentally shot by police during the attack. He was named as Ofer Ben-Ari, 46, of Jerusalem.

The second murder victim was named as Reuben Birmajer, a rabbi at the Aish Hatorah yeshivah in the Old City. He had sustained critical wounds during the attack.
