Officials said the attacker drover a car into a crowd of pedestrians before attacking bystanders with a knife
February 27, 2025 16:17A terror attack in the northern Israeli town of Pardes Hanna-Karkur has left at least 12 people injured, with three seriously wounded, according to reports from local authorities.
The suspect, identified as a 53-year-old Palestinian from the Jenin, was killed by police shortly after the incident, a police spokesperson revealed.
Channel 12 reported the suspect is said to have no prior criminal or security record. While the police say he had been residing in Israel without a permit while married to an Israeli citizen.
The suspect allegedly drove his vehicle into pedestrians waiting at a bus stop near Karkur Junction.

After crashing into the pedestrians, they reportedly exited the car and began a stabbing spree, targeting bystanders.
At least one person, reportedly a 17-year-old girl, is in critical condition. The girl is currently unconscious, sedated and breathing with the help of a ventilator at Hillel Yaffe Hospital, having sustained serious damage to her head and limbs.
A 60-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman remain in serious condition, also with head injuries, the Times of Israel reported.
A police spokesperson told Channel 12: “The car accelerated and hit a group of people at Karkur Junction. It hit a bus stop.
"From there, he tried to continue on with the car. He accelerated toward a nearby police car and hit it. The officers chased him, caught him, and neutralised him.”
Authorities have not yet determined the motive behind the attack, though investigations are ongoing.
Security forces are advising the public to avoid the area as they continue their work.
