Press tour Netiv HaAsara after the OCt 7 attack

Two Israelis were wounded on Monday morning in a stabbing in the southern town of Netiv Ha'asara, according to reports.

The community is located in the north-west Negev, along the border with the Gaza Strip.

At least 20 of its residents were murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7.

Israeli security forces were converging on the scene, where the terrorist was reportedly shot.

Last week, four Israel Defence Forces soldiers were wounded, including two seriously, in a car-ramming attack near the central Israeli city of Lod.

The commander of the Israel Police’s Central District, Supt. Avi Biton, told reporters that “the terrorist ran over several Israelis at a bus stop, continued a few hundred meters and carried out another run-over attack”.

Police said the assailant, whom they identified as 26-year-old Muhammad Shahab from the Kafr Aqab neighbourhood of northeastern Jerusalem, was “neutralised” by officers and that the incident was being investigated as a terrorist attack.

The Hamas terrorist organisation hailed the attack as a “heroic operation,” but stopped short of taking responsibility.

Earlier this month, an Israeli soldier was killed and another seriously wounded in a terrorist stabbing in a shopping centre in the northern city of Karmiel.

The victim was identified as Israel Defence Forces Sgt. Aleksandr Iakiminskyi, 19, from Nahariya. The military said he served as a driver in the 188th Armoured Brigade’s 71st Battalion.
