Director Steven Spielberg is reported to be working on a film about President Barack Obama’s legacy.
Although Mr Obama still has over a year left in office, he has been in conversation with the Jurassic Park and Lincoln director about developing a “narrative” for the years after he leaves his post.
According to the New York Times, Mr Obama met Mr Spielberg at a screening of Lincoln in 2012 and was “spellbound” listening to the director talk about his use of technology to tell stories.
In 2013, Mr Spielberg released a spoof video (below) – which now seems prophetic - for the White House Correspondents’ Dinner talking about directing a movie based on Mr Obama’s life and presidency.
In an interview last year, Mr Obama was asked what he saw himself doing after his term was up. He answered: “I haven’t projected out 10 years. I know what I’ll do right after the next president is inaugurated. I’ll be on a beach somewhere drinking out of a coconut.”
