A Secret Service agent in Israel has been sent home to the United States after allegedly assaulting a woman in Jerusalem.
In a statement, the United States Secret Service said that a member of the Secret Service Counter Assault Team, charged with providing tactical support to the Presidential Protective Division was "allegedly involved in a physical encounter" on Monday night.
According to the agency, the agent was questioned by Israeli police who contacted the State Department before releasing him without charge.
The statement continued: "The employee has returned to the United States and in accordance with agency protocol, his access to Secret Service systems and facilities was suspended pending further investigation."
Earlier this year, two Secret Service agency employees were returned to the US during the President's trip to South Korea after allegedly drinking heavily and getting into an altercation with a cab driver in Seoul.
