Radiohead played their concert in Tel Aviv last night, defying weeks of pressure by Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions campaigners.

The British rock band performed a selection of their most famous songs for the 47,000 strong crowd, including Creep”, “Paranoid Android”, and “The Bends”.

In all they played 27 songs, with a main set and two prolonged encores, in what is said to have been their longest concert for over a decade.

 

The band had faced demands that they cancel their show in Israel, with former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters and film director Ken Loach leading the boycott calls.

In what was seen as a not-too-subtle riposte to Mr Waters, Radiohead also played a classic Pink Floyd tune during the show – “Money”.

Thom Yorke, the band’s frontman, told the audience at the end of the night: "A lot was said about this, but in the end we played some music".
