The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has applauded President Donald Trump for denouncing antisemitism after a series of bomb threats were made against Jewish community centres.
During a speech in Australia on Wednesday Mr Netanyahu said: “It is very important that President Trump took a strong stand against antisemitism”.
On Monday, 11 community centres in the United States were evacuated in response to bomb threats. It also emerged that over 100 headstones had been vandalised at a Jewish cemetery in Missouri.
Mr Trump was initially criticised for failing to condemn these incidents but yesterday he remarked that they were “horrible” and a “reminder of the work that still must be done to root out hate and prejudice”.
