Israeli health workers are striking to highlight concerns over violence directed at staff, after a nurse was set on fire by a patient and died.
Tova Carero, 56, died of her burns after being set on fire by a disgruntled patient in Holon, south of Tel Aviv.
The patient threw a bottle of flammable liquid on the nurse and set her alight in the Clalit Health clinic on Monday.
The suspect, a man in his 70s and who is thought to suffer from mental illness, escaped the scene by car, but was arrested following a manhunt on Tuesday.
It is believed Ms Carero had given the man a flu jab last week, but he returned to complain after he felt unwell.
Despite medical staff’s assurances that his reaction was a routine side effect he refused to accept their advice.
Local police chief Sigal Bar Tzvi said: "Following an argument, he poured a flammable liquid he had brought with him ahead of time on the nurse treating him and set her on fire.
"Resuscitation efforts failed and she was unfortunately pronounced dead at the scene."
Israeli health workers plan to strike for two hours on Wednesday.
