Two Israelis were wounded, one moderately and one lightly, in a shooting attack on Friday morning at Moshav Neot HaKikar in the northern Arava area, south of the Dead Sea.

The military said IDF troops killed two terror operatives, who infiltrated Israeli territory from Jordan. They were killed after they opened fire at troops.

The Israeli military said ground and aerial searches are underway for an additional terrorist who probably fled the scene after crossing the border from Jordan in the Dead Sea area.

Residents were ordered to remain inside their homes, and troops were dispatched to the area in the northern Arava valley.

The victims were taken to the Soroka Medical Centre in Beersheva.

“IDF forces recently identified a number of terrorists who crossed from Jordan into the country south of the Dead Sea,” said the military Spokesperson’s Office.

“The IDF force was dispatched to the spot and neutralised the two terrorists.”
