An attempted stabbing attack has been reported near the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron, in the seventh attack in Israel in four days.

No Israelis were wounded and two alleged assailants were subdued at the scene.

Earlier on Monday morning two police officers were wounded during a knife attack in Jerusalem’s Old City.

A 54-year-old policeman was moderately wounded and a 38-year-old female officer left in a serious condition.

According to police, the attacker, in his 20s, followed the officers before stabbing them from behind. He was subdued after the stabbing.

An IDF officer was stabbed near Efrat in the West Bank last Tuesday, while on Friday three Israelis were injured after attackers drove into them at a junction outside Kiryat Arba. Also on Friday, a knife-wielding Jordanian man charged at police near the Old City.

Israeli security officials are preparing for a surge of attacks in the West Bank and East Jerusalem ahead of the High Holy Days.
