An ice cream shop that comes with a very sweet message has continued to grow since it was opened by its Jewish and Muslim business partners last year.

Young entrepreneurs Adam Ziv and Alaa Sawitat opened the homemade ice cream shop in Tarshiha market last July.

“We’re not just a novelty of being a Muslim-Jewish co-existence ice cream store,” the 27-year-old Jewish kibbutznik told Israel21c news.

“We make ice cream that people like.”

Bouza, which translates as “ice cream” in Arabic, serves a diverse range of flavours inspired by local produce from the Galilee region, with prices that range from around £1.50 to £2.75.

Mr Ziv added: “We try some Middle Eastern mixes like pomegranate and lemongrass or chocolate and spearmint.

"We’re still working on a kanafeh-flavoured ice cream (a Palestinian cheese pastry) but haven’t found the right recipe yet.”
