Donald Trump’s directive to move the US embassy to Jerusalem appears to have generated excitement in the city’s property market.
Mr Trump announced from the White House on Wednesday that his country would reverse decades of policy by recognising Jerusalem as Israel’s capital city.
One enterprising developer had the foresight to unveil a vast banner ahead of time on the side of one building under construction in the city.
The banner, which spans four storeys, reads: “President Trump, Mazeltov on your decision to move your Embassy to Jerusalem”.
But it also has a cheeky postscript – “Are you looking for a developer? Call Johny” – followed by a telephone number and name of the planning company.
The photo was sent in by JC reader Chaim Finn, who spotted it on Wednesday.
The developer may have been encouraged by Mr Trump’s speech, where he gave orders to start preparing to relocate the existing US embassy to Israel.
“I am also directing the State Department to move the state department to begin preparations to move the American embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem,” Mr Trump said.
“This will immediately begin the process of hiring architects, engineers and planners so a new embassy, when completed, will be a magnificent tribute to peace.”
