More than 1,200 unclothed Israelis flooded the Dead Sea at the weekend in the name of art.

After more than a year of work, Spencer Tunick finally achieved his dream of photographing an installation at the lowest point on earth.

The Jewish artist, whose father is Israeli, has photographed scenes at landmark locations including the Swiss Alps.

He took three photographs in Israel, with scenes in the salty water, on the shore and one where his models – of all ages - were covered in the enriching Dead Sea mud.
