Netanel Yahalomi, 20, was shot in the head after three terrorists carrying guns and explosives crossed the Sinai border near Mount Arif on Friday afternoon, according to Israeli officials.
Lieutenant-Colonel Avital Leibovich, the IDF spokesperson, said: “One IDF soldier was killed and another wounded, as three terrorists opened fire towards them.
“The terrorists used a group of African job seekers as human shields, as they hid behind them before infiltrating.”
The militants, who were reportedly shot by retaliation fire, entered through a security fence which was under construction.
