Iranian drones in the skies of Israel have been intercepted.

Multiple interceptions were seen over Jerusalem as air raid sirens sounded.

Explosions could be heard in the Israeli capital at around 2 am on Sunday morning as interceptions occurred in the skies of Jerusalem, according to latest reports.

A ten-year-old boy from a Bedoiun village near Arad was seriously wounded by the Iranian attack, according to Magen David Adom.

More than one hundred Iranian drones and missiles were launched at Israel on Saturday evening. Sirens across southern Israel and Jerusalem have been heard.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is holding a war cabinet in Tel Aviv with ministers.

The UK and US governments have released statements condemning the Iranian attack.

Reports are emerging that British and American jets have been involved in the operation to strike down Iranian drones.

Channel 12 news reported a senior Israeli official saying there would be a “significant response to the unprecedented Iranian attack.”

British Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said last night that RAF jets and air refuelling tankers had been deployed to intercept airborne attacks and  bolster the UK’s existing counter-Daesh operation in Iraq and Syria.
He said: “I strongly condemn the senseless airborne attacks that Iran has launched on Israel. It serves no benefit other than to further undermine regional security.”
Reports suggested that US and British forces intercepted Iranian drones over Syria Iraq border area.
