Huge rocket attack from Hamas as truce talks continue

Israelis rushed into bomb shelters this morning as dozens of rockets were fired into Tel Aviv, Ashdod and Ashkelon.

More than 25 rockets were fired into Moatza Ezorit Eshkol, in the south.

The wave of attacks came as Israeli forces bombed two evacuated building in Gaza City today.

Despite the continued warfare, there have been reports from Cairo this morning that Hamas and Israeli negotiators are close to agreeing on a truce.

The Israeli military confirmed that 15 air strikes hit Gaza today. Two people were reportedly killed in an airstrike on a house in Gaza.

So far, 68 Israelis and more than 2,000 Palestinians have been killed since Operation Protective Edge was launched last month.
