More than 100 Hamas operatives were killed by Israeli soldiers as they tried to escape Jabalia in northern Gaza on Sunday night, according to the Israel Defence Forces.
The IDF released footage showing armed terrorists trying to escape before being neutralized by units from the 162nd Division, including the 401st Brigade, Givati Brigade and the Multidimensional Unit, supported by strikes from the Air Force.

According to a report by Israeli journalist Doron Kadosh on Galei Tzahal, the Israeli Army Radio, some 106 Hamas operatives were killed in one night.
"This was the most significant night we [can] remember in the operation in the northern Gaza Strip,” the IDF said.
At roughly 9pm on Sunday, the IDF received information about terrorists’ intentions to attack Israeli forces and escape from the Jabaliya refugee camp.
Intelligence had indicated plans to exploit the stormy weather for an escape attempt, prompting the operation.
Shortly after, several battalions were prepared for ambushes and attack readiness, and after a few hours, reports began flowing to the division commander.
The first 15 Hamas operatives approached the forces of the Givati Brigade. Meanwhile, another six approached the soldiers of the multi-dimensional unit. Israeli forces began to engage them in battle, using the ‘Zik' drones. The multi-dimensional unit reportedly managed to capture a terrorist, who during the battle surrendered and was arrested.
Terrorists continued to arrive in groups, with some wearing military vests and others armed with Kalashnikovs as they approached the forces.
The largest attack attempt was reportedly late at night on the Shaked Battalion of Givati. After 30 terrorists tried to flank the battalion, the Israeli forces opened fire and went on the attack, killing 16 Hamas operatives.
Concurrently, in the 52nd Armored Brigade of Division 401, another 10 terrorists were identified. Using tank fire and drones, the forces encircled the operatives, and in the process, identified another 10. In the morning, a total of 24 bodies were counted which intelligence identified as Hamas fighters.
Also, in the Givati Patrol and the Sabar Battalion - squads of 10 terrorists each were identified and killed by Israeli forces.
By the end of the night, the Southern Command counted 106 dead Hamas operatives, while two surrendered and were taken captive. One testified today in the field investigation and said he was part of a squad of more than 10 other terrorists.
According to the reports, it is unclear whether each terrorist squad acted alone sporadically, or whether this was a coordinated attack by Hamas.
There were no IDF casualties.
