A Breslov Chasidic family last month praised the “miracle” birth of two pairs of twin baby girls — born to twin mothers, who are themselves married to twin brothers.
The two pairs of babies were delivered at a Netanya hospital 20 minutes apart, in an uncanny and “wonderful occurrence”, the family said. They said that the babies’ fathers were also born 20 minutes apart, as well as their mothers.
The mothers reportedly gave birth naturally without the aid of anaesthesia.
“This is truly and clearly a miracle. An occurrence like this has never happened before,” said Niv Cohen, one of the twin fathers. “We came to this hospital because our rabbi built this hospital with total self-sacrifice.”
The families live in the Breslov community of Yavniel, south of Tiberias.
The brothers, identical twins Niv and Ran Cohen, were originally introduced to their twin wives, Leah and Rebecca, after being brought into the religious community by the late Rabbi Eliezer Shlomo Shick. The two couples were married by Rabbi Shick within four days of one another.
