British contestant on Israeli talent show: I made aliyah due to London antisemitism

The judges, who were moved by Brennan's story welcomed the singer to Israel, telling him "now you're at home."

Later in the episode, Brennan sang for the panel of judges and an in-studio audience, surpassing the 70% approval needed to progress, winning a whopping 87% approval.

Singing a song by Israeli popstar Eliad, Brennan won the support of the Israeli panel which included stars Ninet Tayeb and Ran Danker.

The Next Star or 'Kochav Haba' is a continuation of the popular Israeli reality show Kochav HaNolad (A star is born) and until season 8 in 2021 was responsible for choosing Israel's entry into the Eurovision song contest.

Previous winners of the show include Eurovision winner Netta and 2015 contestant Nadav Guedj, who became the first Israeli entrant to Eurovision to sing entirely in English.
