She made her fame in blockbuster musicals such as Rent, Wicked and Frozen, but now Idina Menzel is returning to the stage in an off-Broadway play.
Known for her smash-hit singing roles as Elphaba in Wicked and Elsa in Frozen, Ms Menzel is to take on a non-musical part in a comic drama.
Scheduled to open next May, Skintight is the latest offering from New York playwright Joshua Harmon, whose credits include Bad Jews and Significant Other.
The 45-year-old star will play Jodi Issac, who turns to her famous father for support after her ex-husband proposes to a much younger woman – only to find her father preoccupied by a much younger man.
Ms Menzel - who is currently on a world tour - has been with the play since its first developmental reading in 2015.
