Hundreds join search for missing teenager

articlemain

Hundreds of volunteers have joined a search for a missing Jewish teenager.

Asher Sekenofsky, 15, has not been seen since leaving his home in Edgware, north west London, at 7.30pm on Friday.

The Hasmonean High School pupil has severe learning difficulties and police said his disappearance was a “high risk” incident.

Asher is 5ft 7in tall, has dark curly hair and was wearing a green sweatshirt and black tracksuit bottoms when he was last seen.

Co-ordinators from the Shomrim community security group have helped organise searches with volunteers and police officers across London.

A 24-hour incident room was set up on Saturday night to help orchestrate search groups. A community centre in Edgware is being used a base.

Hundreds of people turned up to help with the search for Asher during the weekend.

Shomrim and the Metropolitan Police appealed for anyone with information about his disappearance to come forward.

A 24-hotline is available on 0300 999 1234.
