Hendon bomb threat prompts mass evacuation

articlemain

A mass evacuation took place in a prominent Jewish area this afternoon following a bomb threat.

Buildings on Bell Lane, Albert Road and Hillview Gardens in Hendon were evacuated following reports of a suspicious package.

However, the police were soon able to investigate the situation and bring it to an end. A spokesperson told the JC: "It's all been declared non-suspicious and been stood down as of 11 minutes ago. People are in the process of returning to their buildings."

Several of the roads around the site which were closed off by police have now been re-opened.
