The community's schools this week reported another impressive set of GCSE results, with three schools which released their results early to the JC achieving an overall pass rate of 100 per cent.
As well as a 100 per cent pass rate, pupils at Manchester's King David High School achieved 78 per cent of its passes at grades A* to B.
Joshua Rowe, chair of governors, said he was delighted with the results.
"They are outstanding. I never know what to expect when the results come out and these are stunning results.
"They are a tribute to the pupils and the teachers. I am very proud and am delighted for them all."
Immanuel College in Bushey, Hertfordshire, was also celebrating a 100 per cent pass rate.
It is also the eighth year in succession in which students achieved a pass rate of 95 per cent at grades A* to C. Fifty-nine per cent of its pupils gained straight A*s and A-grades, with 30 per cent notching up eight or more top grades.
Some of the highest achievers included David Gee and Stephen Moses, who both gained nine A*-grades, as well as Naomi Sheer, with eight A*s, and Eve Wilson, who was awarded seven A*-grades.
Immanuel's head teacher Philip Skelker said: "I am delighted with our pupils' excellent results and congratulate them on their achievement and determination to succeed, and thank our teachers for their dedication and constant encouragement."
Pupils at King Solomon High School in Redbridge were also celebrating with 79 per cent of them achieving A*-to C-grades. Some of those scoring top marks included Saul Cohen, with seven A*s and three As; David Aston, with seven A*s and two As; Elli Bolle, who gained six A*s and five As; and Rachel Royston, who achieved six A*s and five As.
Head teacher Spencer Lewis said: "I am delighted with this year's GCSE results which are significantly higher than last year's. The results are a tribute to the hard work and dedication of the students and their teachers.
"I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all the students who have done so well in their exams whether they got A*s or As or simply a passing grade. We are of course particularly delighted with the outstanding results of quite a number of students who got a clean sweep of A*- and A-grades, and are very proud of them."
