The Victorian detective series Ripper Street, returns on BBC2 this month and with it, a cast of Jewish characters.
Deborah Goren (played by Lucy Cohu), who runs the Jewish orphanage, is back in the new series, set in crime-ridden Whitechapel, as is philosopher Isaac Bloom (Justin Avoth) and Rabbi Max Steiner (played by David Warner), who is new to this run. Also featured is a vicious killer stalking the Jewish community who is said to be a "golem".
