Feminist Gloria Steinem has partnered with US social justice campaigners, The Lipstick Lobby, in a project to raise money to improve the lives of women in prisons.

The writer, whose father was Jewish, has created a clear, nourishing E-infused lip balm called ‘The Clear’. She chose the name “because it speaks to the accessibility of this product - Clear is universal and wearable for anyone and everyone who wants to make an impact.”

The Lipstick Lobby was established to generate social change by raising awareness and money support to help issues that affect many.

The brand has worked with Planned Parenthood, The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and the anti-gun lobby, The Brady Centre, which is anti-gun violence.

Ms Steinem said:  “We must address the problems as we see it- incarcerated women have the odds stacked up against them and do not have the resources to provide for themselves and their families or get the help they need.”
