GB News presenter in hot water after reposting Nazi-linked imagery

Just last month the news channel was found to have broken broadcasting rules over ‘Nazi Germany’ vaccine claims

A GB News presenter is facing calls for his sacking and Ofcom involvement after retweeting an anti-vaccination social media post that depicts, among other offensive imagery, Microsoft founder Bill Gates as a Nazi experimenter.

Neil Oliver, who hosts a weekly opinion show on GB News, retweeted the image on Friday with the comment, “Bill Gates: the text book example of the danger posed by rich and powerful people utterly devoid of empathy or care for individual human life.”

The image features Nazi, Satanic, and Illuminati imagery with reference to the New World Order – a conspiracy involving a shadow totalitarian world government – Jeffrey Epstein, Dr Anthony Fauci – former chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden –the United Nations, and big pharma.

Writer and broadcaster Matthew Sweet said on Twitter that the image seemed “to make mockery of the Holocaust by depicting Bill Gates as a Nazi experimenter with a swastika and IG Farben logo, which is presumably a reference to slave labour in Auschwitz”.

“Think how recently something like this would have caused national outrage. Now it’s just a normal Friday night on Twitter for a host with show on Ofcom regulated television,” Sweet added.

Though Oliver has removed the replies to his post, many Twitter users quote-tweeted their outrage at the post and tagged Ofcom for a response.

User Julian Phillips tweeted: “For [Neil Oliver] to retweet a highly insensitive despicable cartoon such as this is an absolute disgrace. No doubt when criticised he will say that he didn’t see or understand the disgusting imagery. GB News must take action.”

The social media post was originally uploaded by Twitter user Liz Churchill, who has allegedly claimed in the past that the pandemic was created by “globalists” in order to depopulate the world, and accused Boris Johnson and UN/WHO officials of being secret SS members.

During his weekly Saturday opinion show Neil Oliver Live, Oliver regularly espouses “anti-globalist” and anti-vaccination tirades and monologues. In 2021, he compared European covid lockdowns to Nazi propaganda.

Ofcom have been approached for comment.

GB News was found to have broken broadcasting rules earlier this month after airing an interview with guest Naomi Wolf who compared the Covid vaccination programme to Nazi Germany.
