She's a star of the big screen - and now she has a big screen named after her.

An Israeli cinema is to be named after Gal Gadot as a "message" to the young people in the northern Israeli town of Nazareth Illit.

Nazareth Illit announced the decision to name the cinema "Gal Cinema", after the former Miss Israel and IDF soldier, the day after Lebanon banned Steven Spielberg's latest film, The Post, from cinemas. Lebanon also tried to ban Gadot's Wonder Woman film from cinemas last year.

“We are going to name the new cinema after Gal Gadot, an Israeli actress who brings honor to this country,” municipal spokeswoman Orna Yosef said of the Wonder Woman actress. “This is a message for our young people because Gal Gadot is an example of success, who has shown that dreams can be attained.”

Gal Cinema will have two screens and opens this week, showing a film by Israeli director Eran Riklis, Shelter.
