Friends mourn London teen after tragic death

articlemain

Friends have praised as "sweet and caring" a London Jewish teenager, Emily Weiss, who died yesterday.

Described by friends as a budding and talented actress, Ms Weiss, 14, was a Year 10 pupil at South Hampstead High School. More than 1000 people joined a Facebook group created in her memory.

Schoolfriend Alice Driver wrote: "Emily was the sweetest girl, I can't believe this has happened. Wherever you are, Emily, I hope you are happy. You will never be forgotten."

Talia Goldman wrote: "She was so kind and gorgeous. One of the sweetest people I knew, always friendly, nice to be around, and great for sharing jokes with, at the cost of your brother. You'll always be in my heart, Emily."

New North London Synagogue will host a prayer meeting and time for reflection for the teenager's friends tomorrow, the first day of Shavuot.
