A pro-Israel Labour MP has called for the “targeted economic sanctions” against Jewish settlements in the West Bank.
Wes Streeting made the comments during a Parliamentary debate on Khan al-Ahmar, a Bedouin village east of Jerusalem which is due to be demolished by Israeli forces.
Mr Streeting described himself as a “friend of Israel”, and has been a vocal critic of party leader Jeremy Corbyn amid the row over antisemitism in the Labour Party.
But during the debate, he criticised the Israeli government, accusing it of expanding settlements in the occupied territory, and “grossly infringing on the human rights of Palestinians”.
