The government has warned British tourists not to travel on buses in Tel Aviv.
The Foreign Office updated its travel advice concerning Israel on Friday morning, just over a week after a Palestinian terrorist stabbed 13 people on Tel Aviv’s number 40 bus.
In a statement, the ministry told travellers: “You should avoid using the bus system in the greater Tel Aviv area and exercise caution when using other forms of public transport.”
Explaining the new warning, the Foreign Office said: “There is an ongoing risk of security incidents on public transport in Tel Aviv and there have been attacks on buses in recent months.”
The new advice follows a similar government statement about Jerusalem, made after terrorists committed multiple attacks on Light Rail stations, which also tells tourists to avoid using public transport.
