Football manager George Borg banned over Hitler jibe

articlemain

A football manager has been banned for five games and fined by the Football Association for telling supporters of a Jewish club: "You may be winning, but Hitler is going to deal with you."

George Borg threatened Wingate and Finchley fans during an Isthmian League Premier Division match in August.

He subsequently left his job at Enfield Town.

The FA’s Independent Regulatory Commission found him guilty of aggravated misconduct and suspended the manager, who now coaches Burnham Ramblers in the division below, for five matches.

Mr Borg, who denied the charge, was also ordered to pay a fine of £275 and complete an education programme.

The suspension will be delayed until Mr Borg’s period to appeal has expired.
