A far-right nationalist group is planning a rally in Stamford Hill next month in protest against the “Jewification of Great Britain”.
News of the march, called “Liberate Stamford Hill”, has spread on Twitter and Facebook, with organiser Joshua Bonehill-Paine calling on his followers to “fight back” against the “Jewification” of the predominately Charedi area.
Posters promoting the rally, which is scheduled for March 22, criticise the Jewish volunteer security group.
In response, anti-fascist groups have said they will stop the event from taking place.
A statement released by North London Anti-Fascists said: “This demonstration will not only be opposed, it will be stopped. We will do everything we possibly can to refuse National Action, or any other antisemitic, White Pride, nationalist or neo-nazi groups who join this protest, even an inch of our streets.
“More information shall be released shortly about counter-demonstration plans and how we shall be working with Stamford Hill residents, community groups, and other antifascist groups to ensure that the intimidation and hate that this demonstration is designed to create is stopped.”
