A right-wing extremist has been charged with the racially aggravated harassment of MP Luciana Berger.

Joshua Bonehill-Paine allegedly used social media to harass the Shadow Minister for Mental Health between October 2014 and January 2015

A Scotland Yard spokesperson said that, during that time, Bonehill-Paine is believed to have sent “malicious communications to a Member of Parliament via social media network”.

He added in a statement: “Joshua Bonehill-Paine of HMP Wayland was charged on June 14 with racially or religiously aggravated offence of harassment (non-violent) committed between October 26 2014 and January 25 2015.

“It is alleged that the offences are racially or religiously aggravated.”

A court date has not yet been given.
