Entrepreneurs from the UK were inviited to participate in a Dragons’ Den-style challenge by the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs this week.
The UK final of Bizcamp Tel Aviv, held at the Google campus in Shoreditch, saw four young entrepreneurs pitch website ideas to a panel of four judges, including Israel’s ambassador to Britain, Daniel Taub, and Debu Purkayastha, principal of new business development for Google.
The panel cross-examined the entrepreneurs, before announcing that Juan Cartagena, 30, had won the challenge, based on his TraitPerception plan to measure an individual’s personality traits through social media.
Mr Cartagena, 30, will fly to Tel Aviv in October with nine other winners from Europe, to meet Israel’s most successful start-ups and investors.
