British mobile phone operator EE has said “appropriate action” has been taken after an employee described Jews as “arrogant”.

The assistant manager of the company’s shop in Tottenham Hale, north London, said Jewish customers were arrogant after Orthodox shoppers claimed they were turned away when they wanted to take advantage of a free phone charger offer in April.

Mr Reid denied the allegations, telling the JC: “Jewish people are very arrogant but we serve them to the best of our ability. I do find them arrogant.”

An EE spokesman confirmed on Thursday that action had been taken.
