Award-winning hairdresser David Barron might be best known for styling the locks of various celebrities, including actor Clive Owen, singer Rachel Stevens and BBC business editor Robert Peston.

But he is also a talented photographer and is putting on an exhibition of his work to mark a successful four decades in the business.

The exhibition, which launched at his Muswell Hill salon, Barrons Hairdressing & Photovision, last month, features many of his award-winning photos. Mr Barron, 60, tells People: “There is definitely a parallel between hairdressing and photography. It’s the same game — they both require communication and vision.”

He set up his first salon in 1969 and has since won British Hairdressing Business of the Year, the Master Photographers Association London Fashion Photographer of the year, and this year, his client Robert Peston was voted the best celebrity haircut.

The exhibition is running in Barrons and Sable D’or Patisserie, Muswell Hill.
