Orthodox author Daniel Gigi wants to impart his knowledge of Jewish mysticism, known as Kabbalah.

He has published a book to help others learn the system of the Ecstatic School of Kabbalah, which, he acknowledges, may be obscure to a beginner.

Titled 28 Jewelled Crown — A comprehensive system of Jewish Meditation and Mysticism, and adapted for the modern audience, the book explores the ancient system of Jewish meditation and mysticism.

The Ecstatic Kabbalah is the meditative heritage of Jewish mysticism and the spiritual progeny of the prophets of ancient Israel.

Mr Gigi, 27, has been a student of Kabbalah, psychology and world mysticism, and a practitioner of meditation, since the age of 14. He tells People: “The meditation system of Kabbalah is more hands on and profound than the theoretical Kabbalah. It’s about transforming the way you think. I started the book about five years ago. It’s been a long time in the making.”

The book provides step-by-step instructions to the various methods employed in the Ecstatic Kabbalah and explains the theories behind the methods.

What does he make of the celebrity interest in Kabbalah? “I don’t necessarily think that what Madonna and Britney Spears are learning is authentic but, on the good side, their interest generates publicity about it which is good. The best way is to educate people.”
